SEPAL RESTAURANT                                                        salomé francpourmoi / marika kobel

With a vision for a haven of delicious, inexpensive and healthy food and in the midst of a fast food court, restaurateur Walid Massood engaged our design team to create a new venue for his Sepal Restaurant in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Working with a very tight budget and timetable, Pilot Projects helped fulfill his vision, creating what the Boston Globe describes as “an oasis of natural wood, minimalist design, and simply-prepared, freshly-made Middle Eastern food.” Our design strategy emphasizes natural materials, visible food preparation, minimal graphics and warm lighting, and allows Sepal to stand out amidst the fast-food crowd. “In the food court, everyone is screaming.” Said one of our designers. “Sepal will be the one that whispers and gets all the attention.” It seems she was right.
